CORAL SPRINGS, FL - The world’s largest Audi showroom
celebrated its Grand Opening Sunday night, March 20th.
With a gala atmosphere, Champion Audi celebrated the
opening of their new 61,000+ sq. ft. facility in Coral
Springs, Florida. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the
Board of Management of AUDI AG spoke at the event and
was joined by fellow AUDI AG Boardmembers Dr. Jochem
Heizmann, Ralph Weyler and Rupert Stadler to
congratulate Dave Maraj, owner of Champion Audi and Don
Skuta, Champion’s Vice President on their accomplishment
and vision. Audi of America, Inc.’s Executive Vice
President, Johan de Nysschen, was in attendance as well
with members of his management team. The centerpiece to
the evening was the race winning Audi R8 fresh from the
12 Hours of Sebring.
Attendees to this gala evening came from around the
world including all six race car drivers from Champion
Racing: Finland's JJ Lehto, Germany’s Marco Werner and
Frank Biela, Denmark’s Tom Kristensen, Italy's Emanuele
Pirro and Allan McNish of Scotland. Other luminaries in
the audience included Dr. Don Panoz, founder of the
American Le Mans Series and Formula One race car driver
and five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell. All in all,
over 400 customers, VIPs and dignitaries attended the
event.
This was the perfect conclusion to a
weekend where Champion Racing working in partnership
with Audi Sport North America won the 12 Hours of
Sebring with the closest competitive finish in the
race’s 53-year history (The No. 1 Audi R8 posted a
6.365-second win over the No. 2 car). The victory
extended Audi's winning streak at Sebring to six
consecutive victories.
